Terms of service
Last updated October 20, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Roger Seng Studios, the maker of Makado, for using makado.app. They are written to be read. If anything here is unclear, ask and we will explain it.
Who can use Makado
You need to be at least 18 and able to agree to these terms. If you use Makado for a business, you agree to them for that business too.
You sign in with a link sent to your email. Keep access to that inbox safe, because anyone who can open it can sign in as you.
Workspaces and teams
Your work lives in a workspace. The person who creates it is its owner. You can own up to 3 workspaces on a plan (1 during the trial), for example one for each creator you manage, and belong to other people’s without limit. An owner can invite up to 4 other people to each workspace, for 5 in all, and give each one a role: manager, assistant or viewer.
The owner is responsible for the workspace: who is in it and what they can do. People you invite agree to these terms when they sign in.
Free trial
Everyone gets 14 days free from their first sign in, with everything included and no card needed. The trial includes one workspace of your own, and it does not restart. When the trial ends, the workspaces you own turn read-only until you subscribe.
Plans and payment
- Makado costs $15 a month or $100 a year per person. One plan covers up to 3 workspaces you own, with up to 5 people in each. Working in someone else’s workspace is free: their plan covers it. Sales tax is added where it applies.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. Makado never sees or stores your full card number.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each month or year until canceled. If you subscribe during your trial, the first charge is on the day the trial would have ended.
- You can switch between monthly and yearly, update your card, see receipts or cancel at any time from Settings, Billing.
- When you cancel, Makado keeps working until the end of the period you paid for. We do not refund partial months or years, except where the law requires it.
- If we ever change the price, we will email you at least 30 days before it applies to you.
When a subscription ends
If your subscription is canceled or a payment cannot be collected after Stripe retries it, the workspaces you own turn read-only. Everyone can still sign in, see everything and download a backup. Nothing is deleted. Subscribing again opens it back up.
Your content
Everything you put into Makado stays yours: brands, projects, products, contracts, invoices, notes and files. We do not claim ownership of any of it.
To run Makado we need your permission to store, copy and show your content to you and the people in your workspace. You give us that permission, only for running and improving the service, and it ends when you delete the content or your account.
You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload, such as contracts and product files.
Fair use
Please do not use Makado to break the law, to send spam, to upload anything harmful such as malware, to get into accounts or data that are not yours, or to overload or copy the service. We may suspend an account that does, and will tell you why when we can.
Deleting your account or workspace
You can delete your account in Profile, and an owner can delete a workspace in Settings, Workspace. Deleting a workspace removes everything in it; your plan carries on for your other workspaces. Deleting your account also ends your plan. Download a backup first if you want to keep a copy. We may also close an account that breaks these terms, after giving notice where we reasonably can.
Changes to Makado
Makado will keep changing as it grows. We may add, change or remove features. If a change takes away something important you pay for, we will tell you ahead of time.
No guarantees
We work hard to keep Makado running and your data safe, but the service is provided as is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will always be available, error free or right for every purpose. Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose; Settings, Data makes one in a click.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, Roger Seng Studios is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for any claim about Makado is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top. For changes that matter, we will email you at least 30 days before they take effect. Using Makado after that means you accept the new terms.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Utah, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
