Makado is made by Roger Seng Studios. This page explains what we collect when you use makado.app, why, who helps us run it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what Makado needs to work, we never sell it, and there are no ads or trackers.

What we collect

  • Your account. Your email address, and the name, photo and time zone you add in Profile.
  • Your work. What you and your team put into a workspace: brands, projects, products, contracts, invoices, notes, day notes and the files you upload.
  • Your settings. Theme, color theme, work week and similar preferences.
  • Billing. Your plan, its status and renewal date, and the customer id Stripe gives us. Your card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them.
  • Technical logs. Like most websites, our hosting and database providers keep short-lived logs of requests, such as IP address, browser type and time, to keep the service secure and working.

How we use it

  • To run Makado: sign you in, save and show your work, and share a workspace with the people you invite.
  • To send the emails Makado needs to send: sign-in links, team invites and billing notices.
  • To handle subscriptions, receipts and sales tax.
  • To keep the service secure, fix problems and answer you when you write to us.

We do not sell your information, share it for advertising, or use your content to train AI models.

Cookies and storage

Makado uses one kind of cookie: the one that keeps you signed in. Your browser also remembers a few display choices, such as theme and whether the sidebar is collapsed. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.

Who helps us run Makado

These companies process data for us, only to provide their part of the service:

  • Supabase stores the database, your files and your sign-in, on servers in the United States.
  • Vercel hosts the website.
  • Resend sends Makado’s emails.
  • Stripe processes payments and calculates sales tax.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or with a buyer if Makado is ever sold, in which case this policy keeps applying to your information.

Who can see your work

The people in your workspace see its work according to their role. Viewers and assistants do not see money: revenue, contracts and invoices. Each workspace is kept separate in the database, so nobody outside it can read it.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete a workspace or your account, its data and files are deleted right away, and copies in our providers’ backups are gone within 30 days. Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Your choices and rights

  • See and correct your details in Profile.
  • Download a full copy of a workspace in Settings, Data.
  • Delete your account in Profile, or a workspace you own in Settings, Workspace.

Depending on where you live, such as in California or the European Union, you may have more rights, like asking what we hold about you or objecting to how we use it. We honor those requests for everyone. Write to hello@makado.app and we will answer within 30 days.

Security

Everything travels over encrypted connections, data is encrypted where it is stored, and the database only lets each person read the workspaces they belong to. No system is perfect, so if something ever goes wrong that affects your information, we will tell you promptly.

Children

Makado is a tool for working adults and is not meant for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top, and email account holders about changes that matter before they take effect.
